Chinese American Planning Council In-School Youth Program

Mission

Our mission is to serve the Chinese-American, immigrant and low-income communities in New York City by providing services, skills and resources towards economic self-sufficiency.

Activities

Participants make a commitment to partake in CPC services for up to three years, beginning in their Junior year of high school. There is a Manhattan In-school Youth Program (ISY) and Queens ISY. Staff aim to develop the participant's' skill set and begin college exploration activities to prepare them for the college application process. Workshops, such as those listed below, are provided to help youth with the transition from high school into college and beyond:

Resume and Cover Letter Writing
Interview Skills & SAT Prep
Financial Literacy & College Application assistance
Public Speaking skills, Service Learning projects and Leadership activities

Eligibility

For High School Students Attending The School Where The Program Takes Place. Students Begin In Their Junior Year.
