We invest in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.


The Work, Learn & Grow Employment Program (WLG) provides participants of the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) who are between the ages of 14-24 and currently in-school with career readiness training and paid employment opportunities for up to twenty five weeks from October to April. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs including:

Government Agencies
Small Businesses
Law Firms
Sports Enterprises
Retail Organizations

WLG career readiness training will focus such topics as career exploration, financial literacy, conflict resolution, resume/cover letter development and opportunities to continue education and social growth.

Programs are located in community-based organizations in all five boroughs of New York City.


Ages 14 - 24 New York City Resident Formerly Enrolled In 2015 Syep Or Isy Internship Currently In-School Must Have All Documents From The Documentation Checklist If You Are Selected For An Syep Position And You Are Under The Age Of 18, You Must Submit Your Most Current Working Paper. Working Papers Can Be Obtained Through Any New York City Public High School Or District Family Advocates Office.
