Ydr's Teenage Touring Ensemble
The mission of Young Dancers In Repertory (YDR) is to provide professional training that fosters growth and communication through dance via creative educational arts programming and performances for children, youth and the general public.
Our tuition free training ground for young dancers, ages 9-18, seeking to enter university dance programs and/or the professional world of dance.
The Teenage Touring Ensemble is Young Dancers in Repertory’s founding program. It serves as a tuition-free training program for young dancers, ages 9-18, seeking to enter university dance programs and/or the professional world of dance.
Each year, the Ensemble rehearses and presents up to 20 or more fully-costumed performances in a variety of venues throughout NYC where performances are free of charge to the general public. Performances are held at theaters, festivals, museums, schools, parks, senior centers, nursing homes, and other public venues. Young Dancers in Repertory’s Teenage Touring Ensemble performed as part of the Dance Grand Prix Italia in Cesena, Italy. In addition the Touring Ensemble has performed at the Annenberg Performing arts Center in Philadelphia, on Liberty Island, The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), and on national and local television programs.
Young dancers who perform with the Teenage Touring Ensemble are selected through an open audition process, and following acceptance, are required to take three technique classes per week and attend rehearsals every Saturday, along with additional rehearsals before major performances. Ensemble members benefit from high quality instruction from accomplished modern dance professionals including founding director Craig Gabrian.
Auditions will be held three times a year. Dates to be determined. Please call 347-702-7155 for more information.
