Mission

Our mission is to empower young people to reach their potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment.

Activities

The Bronx Youth Center provides employment and education programming to people between the ages of 16-24, and also provides a biweekly criminal law clinic and regular recreational activities.

High School Equivalency (HSE) - We offer free classes aimed towards helping you get your high school equivalency so you can move on to a career, college, or a vocational/training program.

The Academy - The Academy is a unique program designed to prepare foster care youth care for adulthood. The comprehensive - yet flexible - structure offers individualized academic and employment services while providing supportive counseling. You’ll learn essential life skills that are critical for your future success, and be ready to hit the workforce!

Bridge Programs – One of our most unique programs helps young people start career pathways that lead to well-paying, in-demand jobs. Currently, we offer introductions to Emergency Medical Technician training and Information Technology (IT and computers) - known as TechBridge. For TechBridge, you'll complete CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications. In our EMT Bridge program, you'll earn a CPR certification and be eligible to sit for the NYS and National EMT Certification.

Bronx Opportunity Network (BON) – BON is a network of community-based organizations and CUNY campuses that supports young people as they transition to community college. Services include preparation for entrance exams, enrollment assistance, and other support to help you succeed on campus.

ServiceWorks – ServiceWorks is perfect for young people aged 16-24 (in or out of school) who are seeking volunteer and leadership opportunities combined with job placement assistance.

Project RISE - Education and internship program for young adults aged 18-24 who have been out of school and out of work for at least six months.

Young Adult Internship Program (YAIP) - This is a fourteen-week program that gives committed young people ages 16-24 who are out of school paid work experience in a variety of professions. If you’re not currently in school and need some help getting into a career, this is a great program for you
