Mission

The mission of Brooklyn Historical Society is to connect the past to the present and make the vibrant history of Brooklyn tangible, relevant, and meaningful for today's diverse communities, and for generations to come.

Activities

Brooklyn Historical Society is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, creative teens to join the Teen Council in the Spring 2018 semester. The Teen Council will create exhibition panels for BHS’s landmark building at 128 Pierrepont Street over the course of the Spring semester.

BHS Teen Council Members Will Receive:
• Stipend!
• Credit/volunteer hours toward graduation (if your school grants this).
• Recommendation letters for college and scholarships.
• Resume-worthy experience that will give a leg up for competitive summer and senior year internships.
• Exposure to careers in museums, archives, informal education, public history, and more!

High School Students In New York City. Must Be Able To Travel To Brooklyn Historical Society In Brooklyn Heights By The Program Start Time.
