Law & Justice Institute
The mission of Legal Outreach is to change the educational trajectories of students from underserved communities in New York City.
The Law & Justice Institute (LJI) is a five-week mock trial program for rising ninth graders that seeks to inspire students to strive for academic excellence and pursue careers in the law. During LJI, students will learn about criminal justice, the criminal trial process, and participate in a mock trial competition in front of actual judges! Students will also meet a variety of attorneys and judges, and attend field trips – all while learning the necessary skills to succeed in high school and beyond.
LJI is FREE for most families, and all students will receive a monetary stipend upon successful completion of the program. Students are responsible for paying for transportation and lunch.
