Summer Interns At The Met

Mission

The Met presents over 5,000 years of art from around the world for everyone to experience and enjoy.

Activities

Join other teens for a paid five-week summer internship program that will take you behind the scenes, connect you with Museum staff, and help you develop professional skills.

Each intern spends a portion of the internship observing, assisting, and being mentored by a staff member in one of the Museum's departments. The placement is chosen according to the intern's interests and experience. Curators, educators, designers, conservators, and other staff discuss their professional paths and roles at the Museum and lead workshops that help interns try out an element of their work.

Eligibility

Students Completing Grade 11 Or 12 At A High School Or Home School In New York, New Jersey, Or Connecticut The Spring Before The Internship Begins (Is A Rising Senior Or Recent High School Graduate During The Internship); Has Not Completed Another Paid Or Unpaid Internship At The Met; Is Available To Attend All Sessions Of The Internship Program; And Has The Consent Of A Parent/Guardian To Apply For This Program.
