Summer Shakespeare is a free summer theater program for New York City teens who receive free or reduced lunch at school. This is a five-week immersive program for students interested in rigorous acting training. In the first week, students will take master classes in Voice and Speech, Movement, Scene Study, Acting Technique and Improvisation. Then from week two on they'll rehearse a Shakespeare play, delving deep into rich language, intricate blocking, and immersive character study. Please also note that while tuition is entirely free of charge, we do not cover transportation costs.

We aim to serve students who are committed and passionate but who do not have the financial means to pursue this kind of training on their own, so your help in getting the word out is greatly appreciated.
