Activities

a free summer theater program for New York City teens. The Stella Adler Outreach Division’s Summer Shakespeare program is for low-income students, particularly those who receive free or reduced lunch. This is a five-week immersive program for students interested in rigorous acting training. In the first week, students will take master classes in Voice and Speech, Movement, Scene Study, Acting Technique and Improvisation. Then from week two on they'll rehearse a Shakespeare play, delving deep into rich language, intricate blocking, and immersive character study. The program culminates in a performance for family and community. You can find details online at this address: http://www.stellaadler.com/outreach/summer-shakespeare-program/

Please note that there is a May 22nd, 2017 application deadline!

Please also note that while tuition is entirely free of charge, we do not cover transportation costs.

We aim to serve students who are committed and passionate but who do not have the financial means to pursue this kind of training on their own, so your help in getting the word out is greatly appreciated.
