Mission

We invest in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.

Activities

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with paid summer employment for up to six weeks in July and August. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs including:

Government Agencies
Hospitals
Summer Camps
Non-Profits
Small Businesses
Law Firms
Museums
Sports Enterprises
Retail Organizations

SYEP also provides workshops on job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy and opportunities to continue education and social growth.

Eligibility

Applicants Must Be At Least 14 Years Old But Not Over 24 Years Old. You Must Also Permanently Reside Within The Five Boroughs Of New York City. If You Are Selected For An Syep Position And You Are Under The Age Of 18, You Must Submit Your Most Current Working Paper. Working Papers Can Be Obtained Through Any New York City Public High School Or District Family Advocates Office.
