Summer 2017 Program:
This summer explore the basic skills of photography, graphic design, and music production. By the end of the summer, you will have a stunning digital portfolio that showcases your personal style and creativity.
Our program hours are Monday through Friday from 12pm-8pm with the exception of trip days which are scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays. We have some really exciting trips this summer, some that are geared to our overall theme of digital media.
We will visit the museum of moving images, where you will gain an understanding of different recording formats. Experience the rich history of the Apollo theater in Harlem, a tour of NBC studios where some of the most amazing NYC television shows are made, including Saturday Night Live, and the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. We will also go on a backstage tour of NYC landmark venue, Radio City Music Hall to see how a stage production is created, and of course, there are other fun trips like roller skating, bowling, and the movies.
Also, new this summer are our speaker/workshop presentations. Each week a guest speaker from the industry will talk to the group about what they do and their experiences in the world of entertainment. This year’s speakers are some of the leading African American producer and executives in the media industry.
Lastly, we are opening our first production studio and music studio this spring.
