Mission

City Parks Foundation is the only independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to offer programs in public parks throughout the five boroughs of New York City. At City Parks Foundation, we are dedicated to invigorating and transforming parks into dynamic, vibrant centers of urban life through sports, arts, community development, and education programs for all New Yorkers. Our programs and community building initiatives -- located in more than 350 parks, recreation centers, and public schools across the city -- reach 425,000 people each year. Our ethos is simple: we believe thriving parks reflect thriving communities.

Activities

TEEN PASS AFTERSCHOOL
Teen P.A.S.S. – parks, arts, science, sports – is a project-based club for middle school students to learn about environmental science, urban nature, arts, sports, and fitness. Students grow into aspiring scientists, artists, nature lovers, and healthy individuals by participating in our program, located in several park sites around New York City.

Held at each of these locations:
Detective Keith Williams Recreation Center, Jamaica, NY
Brownsville Recreation Center, Brooklyn

TEEN PASS SUMMER INSTITUTE
Our Teen PASS Summer Institute is a free five-week intensive that creates a safe space for young people to grow as scientists and artists, nature lovers and healthy individuals, using natural elements to advance their knowledge of urban environments. The program is tailored to the interests of middle school students.
