Mission

Our mission is to close the Opportunity Divide by providing urban young adults with the skills, experience, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education.

Activities

Year Up New York is a one-year, intensive training program that provides low-income young adults, ages 18-24, with a combination of hands-on skills development, coursework eligible for college credit, corporate internships, and wraparound support. We welcomed our first class in September 2006 and have since grown to two locations in the city to serve many more urban young adults from across all five boroughs.

Our program includes:
6 months professional training in Business, Technology, or Finance
6 months corporate internship with a respected company
Up to 30 college credits
Educational stipend throughout the program between $200-$800
Guidance and support from a staff advisor and professional mentor
