Mission
The mission of our organization is to sustain and enhance the quality of family and individual life for all members of our community regardless of religion, ethnic or cultural background, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, or disability, within a pervasive and inclusive environment that facilitates individual growth, meets individual needs and builds community.
Activities
A technology training initiative for young women, ages 16 to 19, with little or no access to computer training programs, is coming to CQY. Participants will be trained in computer programming and coding, and will be assigned a mentor to help them through the program.
In the summer, all participants will be set up with exciting paid internship opportunities that will include positions working in IT departments, program coding, web design, working with social media, and a myriad of other possibilities.
The program includes the following components:
• Computer programming classes on HTML and JavaScript
• Group mentorship events with female professionals in the technology industry (all events are from 6:15-7:30 at UJA-Federation of New York, 130 East 59th Street, New York, NY)
• Optional one-to-one mentoring
• Summer Internship Opportunities
